SMHAFF: A Day at the Regent Cinema
A day at the Regent - Friday 21st October Read Aloud Workshops Relax and listen to a story being read aloud by Sylvia Watson. Everyone is welcome. No reading experience necessary. Sylvia is interested in how stories and poems can improve our mental wellbeing. This is a shared reading experience that includes poems and stories followed by an informal discussion. 10 - 11am and 11am - Noon Free. Booking: John Harris, 01592 648197. Reel Life An interesting and entertaining series of short films and animations including work from ‘Art with a Passion’, Stratheden, and Diversity Films. 1 - 2pm Free. It’s A Wonderful Life (U) This 1946 film, directed by Frank Capra, stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who finds himself deeply troubled on Christmas Eve. His guardian angel, Clarence Odbody shows George all the lives he has touched, the contributions he has made to his community and what the world would be like if he had never been born. ‘Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.’ Come along to this screening and see one of the most inspirational and heartwarming films of all time. 2:00pm - 4.15pm £3 (carers free).
